Motorcyclist killed in two-vehicle crash in Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD, SC (WBTV) - A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle traffic accident in Chesterfield County Friday afternoon.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident happened on Tec Road near Hunter Ridge Road just south of Cheraw at 3:20 p.m.

The crash involved a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle and a 2012 Chevrolet SUV.

The motorcyclist was reportedly traveling south on Tec Road when the Chevy SUV pulled onto Tec Road from a private drive.

The motorcycle struck the SUV, then the motorcyclist was ejected and fatally injured.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The SUV driver was injured and taken by EMS to McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

The crash is still under investigation and the motorcyclist has not been identified.
