RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

In a statement released on Thursday, John Meadors announced that he will officially be on the November ballot for Solicitor of the Fifth Judicial Circuit next to the Democratic nominee, Byron Gipson.

Meadors credits the “tireless efforts from so many who gathered and verified signatures.”

“To everyone who signed, thank you," Meadors said in the statement. "You have my assurance we will run a strong campaign focused on giving the voters honest discourse and a genuine choice on Election Day."

Meadors launched a campaign to become a petition candidate, which meant his name would appear on November’s ballot if he got signatures from 10,000 voters in Richland and Kershaw counties. Meadors submitted his signatures back in July for verification and officials said he exceeded the 10,000 signatures needed.
