CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

The Charlotte Knights and Syracuse Chiefs game Wednesday at NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse had to be suspended and will resume Thursday at 4:35 p.m. with the Knights leading the Chiefs 2-0 thanks to back to back home runs in the fourth inning by left fielder Eloy Jimenez and shortstop Jose Rondon.

Jordan Stephens pitched four shutout innings for the Knights.

The teams got through four innings complete before the game was stopped due to rain.

They will play to completion Thursday with the regularly scheduled contest scheduled to start after a 30-minute intermission lasting only seven innings.

The Knights return home to BB&T Ballpark Monday.
