Knights lose series opener Tuesday at Syracuse

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Charlotte Knights opened a six-game road trip Tuesday night on the road at Syracuse and it did not get off to a good start with the Knights losing 2-0 in the opener.

The Knights only had two hits in the game and needed Outfielder Ryan Cordell to break up a perfect game being thrown by Kyle McGowin In the top of the 7th inning.

McGowin gave up those two Charlotte hits over eight shutout innings for the victory.

The Knights and Chiefs continue their three-game Series Wednesday.

Charlotte will return home to BB&T Ballpark Monday, August 31st.
