Body found in Boone river identified

BOONE, NC (WBTV) -

A man whose body was found in a river in Boone Sunday has been identified by police as 25-year-old Tylor Nathaniel Cook.

According to the Boone Police Department, a family was exploring Brookshire Park around 3 p.m. when they discovered a body face down in the Southfork of the New River. 

Boone Police responded and immediately began an investigation.

According to officials, there are no known signs of foul play at this point in the investigation. 

The man has not been identified.

The cause of death is pending toxicology results.
