CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - First baseman Matt Skole launched a ninth inning home run, but the Charlotte Knights dropped game two of their three-game series against the Durham Bulls by a score of 3-2 from BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte on Saturday.
The Knights welcomed 10,240 fans through the gates for the team's 18th sell-out crowd of the 2018 season.
The Knights rallied in the final inning of the game against the Durham bullpen, but fell just short.
Designated hitter Ryan LaMarre raced around the bases on Jake Elmore's single, but was tagged out at home plate in the bottom of the ninth inning to end the game.
Skole's ninth-inning blast was his 10th of the season. He finished the game with two hits.
The Knights will conclude their three-game series against the Bulls on Sunday with a 5:05 p.m. game.
