Man struck, killed while checking mail in Lancaster County

A man was checking his mail when a vehicle left the road, striking him. A man was checking his mail when a vehicle left the road, striking him.
LANCASTER COUNTY, SC (WBTV) -

A man was struck and killed while checking his mail in Lancaster County Saturday morning.

According to the Lancaster County Coroner's Office, the incident happened in the 2200 block of Airport Road in Lancaster.

Officials said they were called in reference to a pedestrian struck by vehicle.

It was determined that a man was checking his mail when a vehicle left the road, striking him.

The man was identified as 60-year-old Charles Byrdic of Lancaster.

Byrdic died on scene from injuries sustained. 

No further information was released about the incident.
