South Carolina (WBTV) - Kids in South Carolina will be going back to school in just a few weeks and if you have not started on back-to-school shopping yet, this may be the weekend to do so.
South Carolina's sales tax-free weekend begins Friday, Aug. 3 and concludes Sunday at 11:59 p.m. According to South Carolina's Department of Revenue, qualifying items will not be taxed at the 6 percent state-tax-rate or any applicable local sales taxes.
Parents in Indian Land were taking advantage of the savings.
"Now there's so much to buy, even when they were in elementary school the list was tremendous," Christina Mills said.
"I look at different stores because of it," Gina Pechulonis said. "I probably spend at least $250."
