CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - If you wanted to get tickets to catch the inaugural meeting between Appalachian State and the Charlotte 49ers on the football field September 8 at 6 p.m. at UNCC, then you've run out of time.
The game is now officially a sellout, according to the 49es Athletic Ticket Office.
"What an awesome statement by our fans," said 49ers Director of Athletics Mike Hill. "Niner Nation really stepped up during our exclusive advance sales windows. This will be our largest home crowd ever as we witness the birth of a new rivalry. It's truly a gold standard accomplishment for our football program."
Charlotte opens the 2018 season with three straight home games. The 49ers host Fordham in the season opener, Sept. 1. Charlotte then takes on Appalachian State, Sept. 8 and hosts Old Dominion in the Conference USA opener, Sept. 15.
The first three games will all start at 6 p.m.
