COLLETTESVILLE, NC (WBTV) - Barely two months after serious flooding hit the area, Caldwell County communities along the Johns River and Wilson Creek are bracing for trouble again.
Forecasters say several inches of rain could fall in the area and a Flash Flood Watch has been issued through Thursday.
Damage was so severe in a flooding that happened in May that the Department of Transportation and contractors are still repairing roads and hillsides.
Officials are concerned that heavy rain over the next few days could undo some of what has already been done. So far no major issues but waves of storms that rolled through on Tuesday are just the beginning, say forecasters.
People who live in the area are advised to pay close attention to forecasts and monitor conditions. Move to higher ground if needed.
