A 17-year-old volunteer firefighter was charged with arson in Chesterfield County Wednesday night.

According to the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office, 17-year-old Christian Hargett was charged with second-degree arson. He is a volunteer firefighter at High Point Fire Department.

According to Sheriff Jay Brooks, an unoccupied house was on fire Wednesday afternoon in the Jefferson area of Chesterfield County.
