Tega Cay's finest have joined the growing list of local emergency responders taking on the lip-sync challenge - and it's one of the best ones yet.
Community Relations Officer Sgt. Rob Burns said the department saw other groups sharing their videos online and immediately knew they had to join in.
"What a good way to share the human side of police officers," Sgt. Burns told WBTV. "It showcases our community and the amenities that Tega Cay has."
And the video does just that. Officers lip-sync and show off their dance moves all across Tega Cay to a montage of different songs.
The video - posted to the City of Tega Cay's YouTube channel on Tuesday - was spearheaded by Cassidy Burns and Julia Loy with Fort Mill High School's The Buzz television program. The program, taught by Karin McKemey, has won multiple Emmy's for various projects.
In recent weeks, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department took on the challenge with Justin Timberlake's "Can't stop the feeling!" and the Belmont Police Department took on The Police's "Every breath you take."
Sgt. Burns doesn't see the lip-sync videos as a competition. He said it's just nice to see each department coming together in such a positive way, having fun in their respective communities.
He does, however, hope to see his brothers and sisters in surrounding departments taking on the challenge.
The rest of us do, too.
