ALLENDALE, SC (WFXG) -

A confrontation between two people in Allendale, South Carolina ended in gunfire. A special agent with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) confirmed one of those people died.

FOX 54's Jasmine Anderson was on scene as investigators collected evidence and interviewed witnesses.

As investigators picked apart a crime scene, a South Carolina family deals with the loss of a life.

Their loved one was murdered in the middle of Bing and Mill Streets.

Multiple agencies and caution tape blocked off the intersection for hours. Residents had a front row seat to the scene.

One neighbor told me she saw the victim before he was gunned down. While running down Mill Street, he warned a woman to stay away because the people after him had guns.

The neighbor said she went inside to use her Life Alert to call police to his rescue but technical difficulties stopped the Good Samaritan.

She heard gunshots while she was still inside. Blue tarp marked the spot where bullets stopped him in his tracks.

Authorities confirmed one person is being interviewed and no arrests have been made yet.

At this time, we are waiting to learn the name and age of the person who died. As of 7 p.m. SLED was still on scene.

Multiple agencies, including SLED, Allendale Police, Allendale County Sheriff's Office, Allendale County Emergency Management and Allendale County EMS responded.
