Witnesses: Customer fires shots as robber flees uptown convenience store

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A man reportedly robbed an uptown Charlotte business and was shot at by a customer early Friday morning.

Police say a man went into the Circle K  located in the 700 block of N Graham Street around 1 a.m. and took money from the register. He threatened to shoot an employee, but no gun was ever seen, police say. 

Witnesses say a customer ran outside and fired shots at the robber as he was coming out of the store. The man ran off toward W 10th Street. 

Police describe the robber as being in his early 20s and around 5'6" with a medium build. 

The customer left the scene.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
