A weak cold front that moved in Wednesday night will hang around through the day Thursday. The best chance for thunderstorms Thursday afternoon / evening will be along and south of Interstate 85, close to where we believe the front will settle during the day before pushing farther south by Friday.
There is some concern that a few of the storms – especially in South Carolina – later on Thursday could be quite strong, with damaging wind being the main threat. We’ll be monitoring that situation. As for temperatures, well, there is some good news: behind the front, our temperatures will fall back to the upper 80s - for Thursday and Friday, and the humidity level may take a little knock backward on Friday as well as our storm chances lower.
By the weekend, it will seem like summer again with plenty of sunshine to go around and highs close to 90 degrees. As for rain, there is a very small chance for afternoon thunderstorm both days, but much of the weekend looks to be rain-free.
The better chance for scattered storm may come early next week as another front heads our way by Wednesday. Before the front moves in, afternoon readings will push the low to middle 90s again Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Hope you have a great Thursday, keep cool!
