Police: Home possibly targeted in northeast Charlotte shooting

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A man was hospitalized following a shooting in a northeast Charlotte neighborhood late Wednesday night. 

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 3400 block of Charterhall Lane. Police said a man had been shot in the neighborhood and was taken to Carolinas Medical Center-University by another person. 

Dozens of evidence markers and shell casings could been seen on the ground. A car window had been shot out and a bullet went through the garage of a nearby home. 

Police believe a home in the neighborhood may have been targeted. 

No one is in custody.
