Teen charged after driver found shot in Shelby

SHELBY, NC (WBTV) - A teen has been charged in connection with a shooting that happened in Cleveland County Wednesday morning.

According to the Shelby Police Department, officers were called to a wreck on Clegg Street in Shelby just before 1.30 a.m. When they arrived, officers sad they found the driver had been shot.

The victim was taken to Carolinas HealthCare System Cleveland and was then transferred to Carolinas HealthCare System-Main for treatment, police say.

Police then charged 18-year-old Corey Keshawn Brown with assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill or inflict serious injury.

More arrests are possible, police say.
