- July Heat Is Back
- Poor Air Quality
- Tracking Next Front
CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - We made it back to the 90s Tuesday (93 degrees) and, at 95 degrees, Wednesday will be even hotter! In the unlikely event you may not have noticed, the humidity is on the increase as well, and so the heat index comes back into play, pushing 100 degrees for a few hours Wednesday afternoon, ugh! Thunderstorm chances will be greatest in the mountains today - 50 percent there - but remain low most of the day around Charlotte, with only a 20 percent chance across the Piedmont before sundown.
A weak cold front will approach Wednesday night and hang around through the day on Thursday. The best chance for thunderstorms Thursday will be along and south of I-85, close to where we believe the front will settle during the day before pushing farther south by Friday. In fact, the good news is that behind the front, our temperatures will fall back to the upper 80s - not only on Thursday but on Friday as well and the humidity level may take a little knock backwards on Friday as well.
By the weekend, it will seem like summer again with plenty of sunshine to go around and highs in the low 90s. As for rain, there is a very small chance for afternoon thunderstorm both days, but much of the weekend looks to be rain-free.
Hope you have a great hump day, keep cool!
