CONCORD, N.C. (WBTV) -

A woman was arrested Sunday in connection to a carjacking and sexual assault that reportedly took place at a Concord Gas station.

According to the Concord Police Department, officials obtained warrants on 37-year-old Laura Kathleen Fleming for first degree kidnapping and robbery with a dangerous weapon. She was arrested in Virginia where she will await extradition proceedings before returning to North Carolina.

Law enforcement officials arrested the man accused of carjacking a woman at the gas station Tuesday.

According to a report, police received a call at 6:36 a.m. from the Archdale Police Department saying they were with a woman who was reporting she was carjacked from a gas station in Concord.

The incident happened at the QuikTrip in the 300 block of George W. Liles Parkway.

Officials say an investigation revealed Dustin Ray Bowman and a female acquaintance, Laura Fleming, forced the victim into her car and drove away with her still inside.

The suspects drove the victim north on I-85 and left her with the vehicle on the side of the road in Archdale. During the drive on I-85, Bowman sexually assaulted the victim, the report stated.

A further investigation revealed that Bowman and Fleming were involved in a crash on I-85 at 11:03 p.m. Monday. The two were dropped off by a wrecker company at the QuikTrip around midnight, police say.

According to interviews, officials say the suspects were wanting to "get back towards the Winston-Salem area." The two remained at the gas station until 3 a.m. when the crime occurred.

Warrants were issued for Bowman for first degree kidnapping, first degree forcible sex offense and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

At 5 p.m. Tuesday officers located and arrested Bowman at his home in Archdale. Bowman is currently in the Cabarrus County Jail under a $500,000.00 bond

Fleming lives in the 300 block of Stratford Road in Archdale, NC.
