CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Charlotte Hornets summer league play continued in Las Vegas Monday taking on the Boston Celtics.

Second year Hornets guard Malik Monk was on the bench out six to eight weeks with a fractured right thumb suffered in Friday's win against Oklahoma City.

New Hornets head coach James Borrego got in some national television time talking about the Hornets new up tempo philosophy while assistant coach Jay Hernandez was running the summer league show.

The Hornets entered the game against Boston with a 2-0 record but found themselves trying to comeback most of the night.

There were a couple of standouts to mention for the Hornets like rookie Miles Bridges who scored 20 points and had seven rebounds.

Meanwhile center Willie Hernangomez scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

The Hornets lost 100-80 to fall to 2-1 in the summer league play.
