Gastonia's Harold Varner III comes up short in his bid for his first PGA Tour win

Gastonia's Harold Varner III started the final round of the Military Tribute at Greenbriar tied for the lead, but struggled on Sunday and came up just short in his bid for his first ever PGA Tour win.

Varner started the final round with a one over on his first nine holes.  When he made the turn, he was 5 shots off the lead because Kevin Na got hot.

Na birdied 6 of his first 10 holes on his way to a 64.

Varner's second nine was rough as well has he had only one birdie, with two bogeys and one double bogey.  Varner would shoot a final round two over 72 to finish the tournament at 12 under which was good enough for a tie for 5th.

Na would win the tournament by 5 shots over Kelly Kraft.  It is Na's 2nd career PGA Tour win.
