Coolest weather in weeks, plus a new Tropical Storm soon?
Following a round of severe weather and heavy rain Friday, what a treat Saturday was and nice break from the 90s.
At 79 degrees for a high Saturday, it was the coolest day in almost a month, since hitting 73 degrees on June 12.
Now, it wasn't perfect - we still had clouds and high humidity, but with the northeast breeze it actually felt quite nice for most of the afternoon.
For those areas that saw lingering showers Saturday, they will continue to move out.
Sunday gets arguably better, while temperatures will be back into the 80s, the humidity is going to be dropping big-time.
This time of year, dew points in the 50s are a gift, so make sure you soak it up Sunday afternoon. The sun will be back and the forecast high is 85 degrees.
In other weather news, we are watching Tropical Depression Three which is circulating off the Carolina Coast.
While the storm is forecast to become Tropical Storm Chris by sometime Sunday, the center will stay over water.
Showers will be possible across the Outer Banks tonight into Sunday, with occasional wind gusts 30-35 miles per hour and increased swells, but Tropical Storm conditions are not expected over any land at this time.
