CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Officials have detained four people after a shooting in northwest Charlotte Saturday afternoon.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says one vehicle was shooting into a second vehicle on Brookshire Boulevard.

Police say the officers were heading to another call when they spotted the suspects. Officials attempted to conduct a traffic stop before a brief chase ensued. The suspect vehicle was later confirmed stolen, police say.

All four suspects jumped out of the car at the dead end of Coronet Way and fled the scene, officials say. A perimeter was set up and officials were able to take three suspects into custody with the help of K9, a report stated.

One suspect suffered a gunshot wound to the hand prior to the officers involvement.

The victim vehicle that officers observed being shot into left the scene, according to police.
