Car chase ends with arrests of men accused of phone store armed robbery

UNION COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Two men were arrested after a car chase in connection to the armed robbery of a cell phone store in Union County Friday afternoon.

According to the Union County Sheriff's Office, William Lester McVay III, 23 and Keonte Raysor, 22 of Charlotte will face multiple charges in the incident.

Officials say the Monroe Police Department received a 911 call for service regarding a strong armed robbery at the Metro PCS phone store located on Roosevelt Blvd in Monroe.

Another report was received a short time later from the Boost Mobile store on Williams Road. regarding a second theft of mobile phones.

A description of the suspects and the vehicle they were driving was given out and Deputies with the Union County Sheriff's Office located the vehicle on Old Monroe Road. near Wesley Chapel-Stouts Road.

Officials attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the suspects refused.

A chase went through the Brandon Oaks neighborhood and surrounding areas in Indian Trail, before ending with a single-vehicle crash on Fountain Brook Drive.

McVay and Raysor attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended moments later in the Brandon Oaks subdivision.

All the stolen property was recovered and a stolen handgun was seized in the process.

Mcvay and Raysor will be facing multiple charges pertaining to this incident at the completion of the investigation.
