The Hornets summer league roster got their first-day jitters out of the way Monday, which presented a much more relaxed, yet competitive day two of minicamp. In fact, the organization is so excited to have summer league practices taking place that even Coach James Borrego had to make an appearance today.
"Well I couldn't help myself today I had to get on the court. I was out there on the floor, you know, being a part of the staff, coaching, getting a feel, getting my hands on this group," Borrego said. "Obviously, we have five potential Hornets guys on the roster right now playing with us in summer league. I liked watching them play together, get to know each other, their competitive spirit."
Coach Borrego also praised the squad for how they are handling their opportunity and developing chemistry.
"They take coaching very well, obviously they can do better, but pleased after a day and a half for myself with what I see, their attention to detail, how they pick things up so a good couple days," Borrego explained.
The team will wrap up minicamp on July 5.
