Burke County woman died of blunt force trauma to the head, deputies say

Sheriff: Woman killed by blunt force trauma

ICARD, NC (WBTV) - A 63-year-old woman who was found dead in her home in Burke County last week died "by blunt force trauma to the head," deputies announced Monday.

Robin Teague was found in her home on the 2200 block of U.S. Highway 70, in Icard, around 7:30 p.m. on June 17 by one of her daughters. When deputies and medical crews arrived, they found Teague deceased on the floor inside.

Authorities believe an assault took place.

On Wednesday, the sheriff's office released photos of a truck they say was in the area around the time of Teague's death. Officials say the truck is a grayish Nissan Frontier close to a 1999 model

Investigators are calling the driver a "person of interest."

Anyone who sees or recognizes the truck or the driver is asked not to engage the person but to call the Burke County Sheriff's Office at 828-438-5500.
