Deputies say a woman was arrested Thursday for the murder of a woman in Kershaw County.
According to the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office, 43-year-old Stacey McClintock Catoe was arrested on a warrant charging her with the murder of 54-year-old Brenda Maria Coates.
Officials said at approximately 9:33 p.m on Sunday, deputies responded to a shooting incident at the intersection of Catoe Road. and US-521 in Westville, South Carolina.
Responding deputies found Brenda Coates dead, sitting in her car with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Investigators were called to the scene and were told that Catoe’s car was seen leaving the scene. Investigators later located Catoe and searched her vehicle.
Officials found a .380 caliber pistol and one .380 spent shell casing.
Catoe told investigators that she did not wish to speak with them until she had contacted her attorney.
Investigators seized the car that left the crime scene as well as the car that Coates was in.
A .380 caliber bullet that had lodged inside the vehicle was seized and SLED Crime Scene agents processed both cars for DNA and gunpowder residue evidence.
The .380 pistol, the spent shell casing and the .380 caliber bullet were sent to SLED for processing.
On Thursday, SLED confirmed that the bullet that killed Coates came from the .380 pistol that was seized from Catoe’s car.
Investigators arrested and charged Catoe with the murder of Brenda Coates.
Catoe, accompanied by her attorneys, surrendered herself to investigators at the Kershaw County Detention Center at about 2 p.m. Thursday.
Stacey Catoe has one prior arrest in 1997 for driving under the influence.
