Summer officially arrived at 6:07 a.m. Thursday, it must have been affected by some of those flight delays - because it sure has felt like summer for weeks now!
As for the weather, a cold front will begin to slide south today and approach the WBTV viewing area on Friday. That may seem like a good thing but here's the scoop, the front is pretty weak so it isn't going to be one that blasts through and brings us cooler and drier weather.
This one will stall nearby us on Friday and bring more clouds and a better chance for showers and thunderstorms. The good news is that those two factors will take our temperatures back to near 90 degrees - not a real air mass change, unfortunately - but a step in the right direction. There's a 30 percent chance for thunderstorms Thursday and a 40 percent chance on Friday.
The weekend will take us right back to the low 90s. There will be about a 20 percent chance for a few thunderstorms both Saturday and Sunday and perhaps a little better chance on Monday as another front slides our way.
Keep cool, I hope you have a great Thursday!
