The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) reveals its new conference championship brackets to accompany the new Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament format, effective for the 2018 Basketball Championship.
The women's bracket will kick off the tournament competition with seeds No. 3-6 in four early round games at Bojangles' Coliseum while the No. 1 seed enjoys a first round bye and the No. 2 seed a first and second round bye. The women's quarterfinals will begin in Bojangles' Coliseum on Wednesday, each contest featuring the top seeded women's teams of the conference. The quarterfinals round will then conclude on Thursday as teams transition to competition in the Spectrum Center (formerly Time Warner Cable Arena) when the No. 2 seeds of the CIAA will make their tournament debut. Two semifinals contests will be held on Friday prior to the Women's Championship which is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET at the Spectrum Center.
The men's bracket will begin on Wednesday with two contests featuring the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds of the CIAA. Early round competition will extend in to Wednesday morning before two quarterfinal matchups, featuring the No. 1 seeds, that afternoon. Like the women's schedule, the men's quarterfinals will conclude with 2 games in the NBA Hornets' Spectrum Center before the semifinals round on Friday night. The Men's Championship is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET at the Spectrum Center.
