Coming off back-to-back 20-point outings, Davidson’s Kellan Grady has been named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season, as announced by the league office Monday.
A freshman from Boston, Mass., Grady finished the week (1/29 – 2/4) averaging 24.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals, while shooting 61.8 percent (21-34) from the floor and hitting 6-of-14 3-pointers.
After leading Davidson to a convincing home win over La Salle with a game-high 26 points on 11-of-18 shooting, Grady capped his week with 23 points and a season-high 8 rebounds in Saturday’s victory at George Washington.
Grady, the top-scoring freshman in the A-10, is averaging 16.2 points per game, while shooting just under 50 percent overall.
In addition, the 6-5 guard has scored 20 or more points on seven separate occasions.
Davidson (12-9, 7-3 A-10) hosts Saint Joseph’s Tuesday night at 7 p.m. inside John M. Belk Arena.
