For the 3rd time this season, Winthrop forward Xavier Cooks has been named the Big South Player of the Week.
In games played January 15-21, Cooks helped lead the Eagles to a 3-0 week.
In a win over then first place Gardner-Webb, the senior almost notched a triple double as he had 17 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 assists.
On Thursday in a win over UNC Asheville, Cooks had 15 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks.
He finished his impressive week with a 19 point, 11 rebound effort against Presbyterian.
For the week, Cooks shot 54% from the field (20 of 37).
For the season, Cooks is averaging 16 points and 9 rebounds per game.
