GASTONIA, NC (WBTV) - A Georgia man has been arrested after police say he allegedly hit and killed a woman with his vehicle in Gaston County in August 2011.
According to the Gastonia Police Department, 54-year-old Sheila Patterson was walking on West Franklin Boulevard near Trakas Boulevard on the evening of Aug. 27. Police say that is when Patterson was reportedly struck by the driver of a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire.
Patterson was reportedly found by a passing motorist the next morning and was taken to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, officers say. Police say Patterson died a day later.
On Wednesday, police arrested 26-year-old Lucas Heath Fuller, of LaGrange, Georgia, in connection with this incident after "a citizen came forward with new information." Fuller was charged with felony hit-and-run.
No other details were released.
