CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A man is in critical condition after his truck hit an icy patch in Salisbury Monday night.

Officials say 57-year-old Jerome Blakeney was driving a 1986 Chevrolet pick-up truck on Rowan Mill Road towards Sherrills Ford Road when he hit ice on the bridge.

The truck slid off the road to the left, overturned and Blakeney was ejected. He was flown to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.

No other vehicles were involved. Salisbury police say Blakeney was the only person in the truck.
