Teens charged in shooting of 15-year-old in Rock Hill

ROCK HILL, S.C. (WBTV) -

Three people are in custody after a teen was shot in Rock Hill Tuesday afternoon. 

The shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. on a trail near the 400 block of Allen Street when the suspects attempted to rob a 15-year-old of marijuana, police say. The 15-year-old was shot in the stomach and transported to Carolinas Medical Center-Main.

Devan Anthony Johnson, 17, Elijah McKnight, 17, and Ahlaysha Locke, 18, were all charged in the case. 

Johnson was charged with attempted armed robbery, attempted murder, criminal conspiracy, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, possession of a pistol by a person under 18 and simple possession of marijuana. 

McKnight was charged with attempted armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, possession of a pistol by someone under 18, and possession of a stolen pistol.

Locke was charged with attempted armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, and simple possession of marijuana. 

The suspects are expected in court Wednesday afternoon.
