'Piggyback Bandit' wanted after shoulder-massaging incident in Charlotte


CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A man, known as the "Piggyback Bandit" is wanted after he was accused of rubbing a man's shoulders at a Charlotte airport in 2017.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers have a warrant charging 34-year-old Sherwin Shayegan with simple assault.

Shayegan was accused of rubbing a 20-year-old's man's shoulders at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport in April of 2017.

The victim, a Florida resident, called police Thursday after recognizing Shayegan in a news report about his arrest in a similar incident that inolved a juvenile at the Newark International Airport in New Jersey.

The victim, who had been traveling in Charlotte last year, said Shayegan handed him an envelope after rubbing his shoulders. The envelope contained $10 and a note thanking him for allowing the massage. The victim provided the note to police.
