CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Water is being shut off at Billingsville Leadership Academy due to a water main break in southeast Charlotte Tuesday morning.

Charlotte Water tweeted around 7:20 a.m. that two inbound lanes may be closed in the 3100 block of Randolph Road because the running water was freezing in the roadway.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools officials say the administration is working on a plan at Billingsville Leadership Academy. No timeframe was given as to when water is expected to be turned back on at the elementary school.

Crews are working to repair the broken pipe under the street.
