CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A travel waiver has been issued for some flights ahead of the anticipated winter storms in the Mid-Atlantic, including flights at Charlotte-Douglas.
United issued the travel waiver Wednesday, citing severe weather.
"When severe weather or other major events may impact our operations, we sometimes issue travel waivers to allow you to change to alternate flights without paying a change fee," the airline says.

"The change fee and any difference in fare will be waived for new United flights departing on or before January 7, 2018 , as long as travel is rescheduled in the originally ticketed cabin (any fare class) and between the same cities as originally ticketed," United said.
