Police: Wanted man turns himself in, facing murder charge in deadly shooting

HICKORY, NC (WBTV) -

A man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting in Hickory turned himself in to authorities, police said Wednesday. 

According to the Hickory Police Department, 32-year-old Thomas Alexander Seabrooks was charged with murder Tuesday in the killing of 27-year-old Michael Bryan Gardner. 

On Thursday, officials obtained an indictment for Seabrooks in connection with the deadly shooting.

According to the Hickory Police Department, Gardner, of Granite Falls, was shot and killed on Nov. 6 in the 900 block of Main Ave SW in Hickory.

Police say Gardner reportedly got into an altercation with someone he knew before the shooting occurred.

Seabrooks is being held in the Catawba County Detention Facility on no bond, according to police.
