ROWAN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Law enforcement officials are asking for the public's help locating a driver they say was involved in a hit-and-run that injured a state trooper in Rowan County.
The crash happened on Sunday, November 19, around 1:29 a.m. Investigators say a 2005 Dodge pickup went left of the center line while merging onto NC 152 west from US 29, and struck a SHP patrol car.
The trooper in that patrol car was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the pickup ran from the scene on foot and was not found.
Officials believe that driver was William Pierre Hargrave, 21, of Salisbury. Warrants were obtained by authorities charging Hargrave with felony hit-and-run, driving with a revoked driver license, resisting a public officer, and reckless driving to endanger.
