For the second time this season, Kellan Grady of the Davidson men’s basketball team has been named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday.
A freshman from Boston, Mass., Grady finished the week averaging 27.5 points, while shooting 58.3 percent (21-36) from the floor, including 9-of-16 from 3-point range.
On Christmas Day, Grady scored a season-high 30 points (24 second half) on 12-of-19 shooting to lead Davidson past Akron.
He capped his week with a game-high 25 points in the Wildcats’ league opener at Richmond over the weekend.
In addition to five 20-point efforts this season, Grady is second on the team in scoring, averaging 15.8 points per game.
Davidson returns to action Wednesday evening with a 7 p.m. tip against Saint Louis at Belk Arena.
