A man was injured after a shooting in northwest Charlotte Sunday afternoon.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the incident happened in the 500 block of Capps Hill Mine Road.

Police say the initial call was for an assault with a deadly weapon.

According to Medic, the man was transported to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries.

Police have not released any details on arrests or persons of interest.
