CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Ready for cold weather?
The really cold air is just barely making it into the Carolinas now. There is a whole lot more still to come!
A big Arctic air high pressure system is pulling in behind a cold front as we speak. Temperatures will fall through the night and won't warm up much on Sunday. Highs will only make it to the mid 30s.
Then it gets colder.
New Year's Eve will be a chilly one! If you have plans that will take you outside, bundle up! Temperatures will be well into the low 20s by the time the ball drops.
It will be in the upper teens by the time morning rolls around. Highs on New Year's Day will just barely reach freezing.
We will stay in the 30s most of the week. If we're lucky, we might hit 40 degrees by midweek, then we're back in the 30s through next weekend.
Stay warm and safe!
