Cold coming strong for first week of 2018

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - * COLD
* Just cold
* No snow... just cold

Get ready!

Saturday's high was 53 degrees. For the rest of the week, we won't return to the 50s, or even the 40s for that matter.

Seriously, cold air is on the way in and it won't be leaving any time soon.

The high on New Year's Eve will be in the mid 30s. We should be back in the mid 20s by the time the clock strikes midnight.

There won't be any winter precipitation to stand in the way of your New Year's plans but dress warmly if you will be outside!

New Year's Day will begin in the upper teens and highs will only make it to around freezing.

The whole week ahead will be well below average but dry. Highs will be in the 30s most days with overnight lows in the teens.

Stay warm!
