CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Three women were arrested after running on the field during the 2017 Belk Bowl at Bank of America Stadium in uptown Charlotte Friday.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the women ran on the field holding signs. Police did not confirm what, if anything, was written, printed or drawn on the signs.
All three of the women were taken to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
Police have not released their names or any of the charges against the women. Officers have not confirmed why the women ran on the field.
The 2017 Belk Bowl featured a contest between the Texas A&M Aggies and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. It took place Friday afternoon.
