CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

We never made it out of the 30s Thursday, and now that the sun has set, temps began to fall fast! Lows Friday morning will once again fall into the upper teens and low 20s around the Charlotte area.

We have a brief reprieve Friday and Saturday as temps make it back to the 40s before the Arctic Express rolls in to head into 2018. New Year's Eve will be nippy and the first few days of 2018 will greet us with temps in the 30s for highs.

Now with all this cold, you may be wondering - when the heck is it going to snow?! Bad news for snow lovers... it doesn't appear anytime soon. We're completely dry through New Year's Day, and it looks like a mid-week storm after that will miss us to the East.

Stay tuned for changes, but don't keep your hopes up!
