Gaston County 5th graders make Christmas cards for #MollysKids

GASTON COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Well look-y, look-y here. Haley Throneburg's 5th graders at Gardner Park Elementary made PERSONALIZED cards for #MollysKids. And I'm about to fall over at their fabulous-ness.

This Gaston County teacher dropped them off and said she used the posts about various #MollysKids as a lesson to her own students on kindness and acceptance. Her students WANTED to create Christmas cards for these children they read about. EVEN BETTER....

We'll be handing these cards on live TV.

TOMORROW MORNING, Friday, December 22nd, is our annual #MollysKids Christmas party. Things kick off at 9am on "Morning Break," on WBTV News.

Watch. Or DVR. Or, watch online at

Producer Crandall Sims and I are super excited. Been working on lots of surprises....... activities...... and some very special guests........ so very special, I might bring Parker and Hutch to meet them as well.......

Tomorrow. Friday morning. 9am. We're throwing a party!

And big thanks to Miss Throneburg's 5th graders for wanting to take part. Doesn't get much better than kids helping other kids, just because.

**Editor's note: This is about one of #MollysKids, children WBTV Anchor Molly Grantham follows closely on her Facebook page. It was first published there, which is why it's written in a personal way. For years Molly has followed hundreds of kids with uphill medical battles. Find this story and updates on all #MollysKids here.**
