Celebrities, athletes react to Panthers owner selling team

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - On Sunday, Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson announced that he would be selling the team at the end of the 2017 season.

The announcement took many by surprise and came amid an NFL investigation into Richardson and allegations of workplace misconduct.

Celebrities, athletes, and analysts took to Twitter to react to the announcement.

Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco quarterback who is no longer in the league following his protests of police brutality and racism during the national anthem during the 2016 season, also expressed interest, tweeting he wanted in on the ownership group.

Some celebrities, like Diddy and Steph Curry, expressed interest in buying the franchise.

Some others expressed that they were not interested in buying the team or just simply can't afford it.

Former NFL players reacted to the news, and some were shocked.
