WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

A New Hanover County man has been sentenced to at least three years in prison after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.

Jeffery Allen Affolder pleaded guilty to 12 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor on Wednesday and will serve two consecutive prison sentences of 18-82 months each.

In June 2016, Affolder was arrested and charged with 15 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and nine counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the New Hanover County jail website.

According to officials, the SBI executed a search warrant at Affolder's home in February 2016 and confiscated his personal electronics. At the time the search warrants were issued, Affolder worked as a federal firefighter at Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point.
