CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Downed power lines on tracks forced many Amtrak passengers to take buses to Charlotte and other destinations Thursday afternoon.

According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation's Piedmont and Carolinian's Twitter page, power lines that were down on tracks between Greensboro and Burlington around 6:30 a.m. caused multiple changes and delays in service Thursday.

Passengers who were on Train 73 are expected to be bused to Charlotte. The Twitter post said the bus will pick up and drop off passengers at all of the stations located between Burlington and Charlotte.

Train 74 will operate as a bus from Charlotte to Burlington and make stops at the stations between Charlotte and Raleigh, according to the post.

The Twitter post states that Train 76 and Train 79 are expected to operate as normal.

According to Vernae Graham, who is a spokesperson with Amtrak, Train 80 was operating on a detour and Train 75 is expected to see a small delay.
