WBTV Speak Out Editorial: Voting With No Regrets

"Speak Out" is an expression of opinion from the Editorial Board of WBTV, and is presented by General Manager, Scott Dempsey.

Being an informed voter makes all the difference. It can leave you feeling good about your choice or leave you horrified. During this Charlotte Mayoral Election - we say don't be horrified. Be an informed voter. Know where the candidates stand on issues that will impact your life every single day.

Know the candidate's vision for the city - a city in which you live and call home.

WBTV works hard daily to help you be that informed voter.

Next week WBTV, along with the Charlotte Observer will host a Mayoral Debate.

Both Democrat and Republican candidates will answer questions when they are grilled on where they stand on problems the city must address.

Affordable housing, police relations, safety, economic mobility, and jobs are a few pressing topics that Charlotte's next mayor must tackle.

The live, hour-long debate will take place next Wednesday September 6th from 7 to 8PM.

Charlotte is evolving and we need strong, bold leadership that can get the job done.

Let's make a date for next Wednesday.

Please take advantage of this debate and all other available resources so that after you vote, you'll have no regrets.

Tell us what YOU think. SpeakOut@wbtv.com.
